Applicants and nominations are invited for the Director of National Institute of Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology (NIIDV) in National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), Taiwan.
The National Health Research Institutes, Taiwan is a non-profit and mission-oriented biomedical research institute in Taiwan. Its mission is to advance medical and health research and improve people's health and well-being. NIIDV is one of the prestigious institutes in NHRI and conducts infectious research including antimicrobial resistance of bacteria and molds, surveillance of viruses and epidemiology in Taiwan, pathogenic mechanisms of tumor viruses, and development of vaccines and relevant platforms. The Director is responsible for conceiving, planning and supervision of research and development programs as well as collaborations with other institutes within NHRI, government, and universities or industrial partners. Eligible candidates should have a doctorate (Ph.D. and/or M.D.) degree with a strong record of productive, interdisciplinary research in infectious disease and vaccine discovery/development. Prospective candidates are also expected to have strong organizational, administrative, communicative and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated abilities to lead a productive multidisciplinary team and develop effective strategic plan.
Proficiency in Chinese language, the ability to work effectively in Taiwan's research environment and experience in pharmaceutical related business are preferred.
